Title: Finance Analyst
Department: Finance&Accounting
Reports To: Sr. Finance Manager
Location: Kinshasa
Contract duration: Initially for 6 months with the possibility of renewal depending on funding
How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?
The Financial Analyst coordinates a variety of financial analysis and budget planning functions in the office, including projects monthly budget monitoring (BvA), forecasting and quarterly financial review and generating a variety of financial reports. The Financial Analyst must collaborate with a variety of other staff to be successful including Country Senior Finance manager, the Associate Directors of Operations, accounting staff, A&C staff, program staff and procurement.
No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect as a Financial Analyst?
* Analyze and understanding financial reports prepared by HQ including:
- Budget to actual reports for specific agreements
- Donor financial reports
- Country Monthly Financial Reports
* Responsible for budget management of the office including:
- Oversee development of new business cost proposals
- Oversee development of annual budgets under continuation awards
- Prepare budget narratives based on the numerical budget, where needed
- Provide appropriate data to DC for inclusion in the corporate budget
* Provide financial data and analysis to Country Director, Associate Director, program managers and others to make management decisions. Examples might include:
- Forecasting
- Funding Scenario Analysis
- Alerting appropriate staff of potential funding shortfalls
* Perform financial analysis including:
- Expenditure Analysis Allocations
- Financial Forecasting and burn rate analysis
* Present financial status during the Quarterly Financial Reviews
* Perform and complete special projects and other financial duties as required
To be successful, you will have…
- Degree in either Economics, Business Management or Mathematics
- Excellent financial management and analytical skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English and French
- Ability to perform strategic thinking in a dynamic environment
- Project management experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Minimum of 4-5 years relevant professional work experience in Finance and Accounting with 2 years in a similar position (managing budget, etc)
Bonus points if you have…
- Experience on Managing PEPFAR (CDC, USAID, DoD) Budgets
